Amin Bigdeli is an architect and team lead at Barcelona-based External Reference, which develops exhibition spaces, architecture, urban environments, interiors, product designs, and more. Here, he leads projects from design to execution, and his practice focuses on advanced tools from parametric design to digital fabrication and AR/VR content. Bigdeli holds a postgraduate master’s degree in Advanced Architecture from the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), where he was the recipient of the best Self-Sufficient Building master project. He also holds a multidisciplinary master’s degree from UPC in which he focused on new challenges in contemporary design and application of the new technologies for the design of the future.  Bigdeli is also a current Ph.D. candidate at The Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), where he’s researching the functional implementations of computational design in living spaces.
